Comments:	I am an enormous fan of your work. I first saw a reproduction of one of your paintings in an edition of Modern Painters, and then later I came across your name in a review by Jed Perl. Unfortunately, I have yet to see one of your paintings in the flesh. (I did, however, have an opportunity to experience one of your fantastic drawings at the current show at the New York Studio School.) From what I have been able to see in reproductions, the energy, color, spatial relationships, surfaces, and sheer virtuosity of your brushwork and mark marking prove truly inspirational for observational, representational painters, such as myself, who are diligently and passionately engaged in the tradition of perceptual painting. You are the quintessential painter's painter.

Comments:	Stanley, I was looking at Jay's website and saw that he had linked yours to his (along with some others) and I was looking at your works here, and was so familiar with some of the later works (DC & Chautauqua) but not your works in 1960 & 70's. I think your works have gotten more complex in thier making (more small marks to compose big forms) yet the forms remain rooted in the same kinds of spaces and rhythms. Very exciting to see. We leave for Italy on the 5th and get back the 22nd. Ruth Miller will be here for the spring term as our AIR and Gillian is coming back to live here for the winter (she arrives the 3rd of January... Comments:	Wow, who thought that I would find painters that I studied with at KCAI, Philip Hale, Mike Neary and Dave Rich, and of course the ÎGrand Masterâ, Stanley (what a great thing the Internet is). It has only been 29 years since we were thrown into a mix in Kansas City. I often wondered what happened to you all·still have memories of our times and you guys there. Now only if you can get Roal Enix, Tom Jenkins and Jim Bowman (and the others from our times there) to post their art, it would feel like I never left there in Î75â. ·ãHail, Hail, the gangâs all here·ä Iâm thrilled to see you all are still painting and still have a relationship. After all these years, it is comforting to see painters painting in a Îvocabularyâ that I understand and was trained in. Be nice to get together in KC and walk the old streets·. Comments:	Great job...I also wish sometimes that there were more internet resources on George Rose, a painter who taught in Missouri then Boston then back in Missouri. He is currently retired from Northwest Missouri State University living in Maryville MO. Has had shows at Wright State U. and Blue Mountain Gallery, one illustration in Goldstein's Art of Responsive Drawing, and Stanley Lewis credits him as a huge influence. It would be nice if you folks could find a way to get some work on-line for this under-appreciated great painter. Thanks
